This present year millions have proven through statistical data, thanks to Pokerstars, that a players expertise in poker matter the most in the game.
One informal kind of proof has been shown during the 2009 WSOP which told us that top players not only triumph for an event but with several ones.
An outstanding example of a multiple bracelet winner would be Jeff Lisandro – the new King of Stud. He triumph all the events in Stud poker in the WSOP counting Razz, 7-Card-Stud and 7 Card-Stud Hi/Lo.
That achievement is not an irregularity because there are others who have exceeded expectations as well. One would be Thang Luu who got the 2nd place during the$2500 Omaha 8 tournament in 2007, then won the $1500 Omaha 8 Tournament in 2008 and managed guard his title this year.
Seeing as the size of poker tournaments are getting larger each year it is rather unattainable for a poker player to win those events much less multiple ones if he or she has no edge over the entire participants.
And the story did not end with those two players.
Phil Ivey who have gained his 6th and 7th bracelets. John Brock Parker who manage to triumph the 6-Max Limit and 6-Max No Limit tournaments. Roland de Wolfe who have achieve his triple crown with his win in this years WSOP. He already won the WPT, and EPT events in the past years. Ex-hockey player turned poker pro, Greg “fbt” Mueller won the $10k Limit Hold’ Em event and the Limit Hold ‘Em shootout. Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu have both cashed in seven events.
And all of this happened before the Main Event started, the Main Event being the most important tournament in poker. Well, if a pro will manage to gain a Main Event title then his reputation will be cemented in the poker community.
Regardless on what will happen on the Main Event the WSOP event this year will be the most celebrated year for professional poker players. So if you take notice of the poker war – shout “On any given day, anyone can win.”
Keep in mind that this is the time when top players play side by side with amateurs. They demonstrate how the amateurs may come on top while they are hiding their bracelets loaded arm behind their back.
Anybody who thinks that skill in poker is not important then shows them the results of the 2009 WSOP to slap them with the truth that poker is undeniably a game of expertise.
