Leading Antigua- online licensed poker room Titan Poker has announced a new promotion that will send five players to this year’s World Series Of Poker main event in Las Vegas.
The World Challenge will see the site hosting a series of country-specific tournaments for players across the world with the top 200 meeting in May for the right to go to Nevada.
The hot promotion begins with 2 rounds of weekly tournaments contested by twelve different countries or regions. All results will be posted onto a special leaderboards allowing players to track their progress. TitanPoker.com stated that tournaments involving more than one nation will only be open to players from those specific countries.
After these 2 rounds, the top player(s) qualify for a final batch of eight tournaments with the results and rankings again posted onto a leaderboard. Each winning player will receive a prize package worth $13,000, which will cover their $10,000 main event buy-in while also giving them $3,000 for expenses.
www.TitanPoker.com sent a delegation of 32 players from around the world to participate in the recently concluded Irish Winter Festival poker tournament. One of these, Germany’s Igor Kurganov, finished in fifth place to win $51,275 while two other TitanPoker.com qualifiers also finished in the mmmm…money.

There are only two players who won poker’s Triple Crown - World Poker Tour (WPT) title; European Poker Tour (EPT) title and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. Roland de Wolfe is the second man who gained the three titles when he won $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha 8 bracelet this year. He even wore a Union Jack track suit during the final table of the WSOP game to tell the world that he’s proud to be an Englishman.
The first poker pro who won the Triple Crown was Gavin Griffin. He won in $3,000 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em in 2004 to gain his WSOP bracelet; he gained the EPT Grand Final Title in 2007 and he won the WPT Borgata Classic in 2008.

Entrants in the World Poker Tournament have decreased this year with at least 25% less entrants compared to last year. But you can see the numbers at the World Series of Poker which sold out 3 out of 9 events that have taken place this year. It only signifies that more people wanted to enter however rooms aren’t enough.
Look at how the competitors in the WSOP Main Event unfolds: 2003 started out with only 830 entries, this is also the time that Moneymaker made run to the finals and won. In 2004, the number of entries had gone on the roof with more than 3 times than the previous year with 2,576 entrants. In 2005, players that enter in the event was 5,619. And the highest would be in 2006 with 8,773 entries. While in 2007 and 2008 have gone low with 6, 358 and 6, 844 entrants.
